When parents disagree with an evaluation conducted by the school, they may request an IEE at the school's expense.

An Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) is an evaluation conducted by a qualified evaluator who is not employed by the school district responsible for the education of the child in question. (34 CFR §300.502(a)(3)(i))
